HEALING EDUCATION AND ART TRANSFORMATION (H.E.A.T.) SUMMER PROGRAM

We are thrilled to announce the return of the Healing Education and Art Transformation (H.E.A.T.) Summer Program for its second year! This groundbreaking four-week program is designed to empower Queer and Trans youth of color, ages 14 to 24, through the dynamic fusion of art activism, leadership development, and policy advocacy.

EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS

H.E.A.T. is more than just a summer program. It's a movement dedicated to fostering change and building a community of young leaders. In today's world, where Queer and Trans youth of color often face systemic challenges, this program provides a vital platform for education, connection, and transformation.

A SAFE SPACE FOR EXPLORATION

At H.E.A.T. workshops, participants are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and explore their unique talents and interests. This program offers a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can express their identities freely and engage in meaningful discussions with peers and mentors.

CULMINATING ART EXHIBITION

One of the highlights of the H.E.A.T. program is the culminating art exhibition. This showcase allows participants to present their artistic and political projects, highlighting their creative visions and the transformative power of art as a tool for social change. The event is open to the community free of charge, and we encourage everyone to attend and support these talented artists. It’s a wonderful opportunity to engage with the artists, celebrate their work, and be part of a movement that uses art to inspire positive change.

THANK YOU

Our work with H.E.A.T. and other youth programming at REACH LA is made possible by our grant sponsors, Elevate Youth California (EYC). EYC is a statewide program that prioritizes youth leadership in under-resourced communities affected by the War on Drugs. Communities of color face the consequences of systemic racism in all aspects of their lives, including physical, emotional, and economic impacts. We are grateful to be part of efforts to empower our youth with the tools to challenge and overcome these systems. Visit the site below for more information on how EYC is transforming lives.
