THE FOUR PILLARS OF REACH LA

The four pillars of REACH LA address the social determinants of health on an individual level, thereby ensuring the continuous growth of our valued clients. They include factors such as socioeconomic status, education, physical environment, employment, and social support networks, as well as access to health care. We designed our interconnected programming to comprehensively address different facets of a young person’s life, while adapting to their strengths and needs.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

The REACH LA health and wellness pillar is vital in addressing the holistic health needs of underserved individuals, particularly those who have not engaged with larger institutions. By providing accessible services in sexual health, mental health support, and HIV testing and prevention, the program fosters a safe environment for individuals to seek care without stigma. It emphasizes education, empowerment, and access to resources, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique experiences.

ARTS INNOVATION

Through creative arts, dance, and self-expression, The Arts Innovation pillar fosters an environment where individuals can explore and celebrate their identities. The arts serve as a powerful medium for personal expression, helping individuals to connect with their heritage and communicate their experiences, which boosts self-esteem and community engagement.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

The Workforce Development pillar aims to equip individuals with essential personal and social skills necessary for success in the workforce. By focusing on skill development, individuals can enhance their economic capabilities, leading to greater independence and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society.. This initiative promotes mental health awareness and aims to reduce stigma and discrimination by encouraging open dialogue and understanding among peers.

SOCIAL JUSTICE

The social justice pillar empowers REACH LA clients to advocate for the rights and voices of LGBTAI+ individuals of color through nonpartisan lobbying and education. It aims to address systemic inequalities and promote social change, ensuring that the unique challenges faced by this community are recognized and addressed, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
